“Yokoyamabaku” is operated by STURT (Sankaku Tonyagai Upcycle Renovation Team), an activity team that works together with the Urban Renaissance Agency (UR) on community-based town development initiatives in the Nihonbashi Yokoyamacho and Bakurocho area. STURT also functions as a network that connects a diverse range of players—young people from the wholesale district, participants active in properties acquired by UR, and others who have an interest in this area—through various town-making activities. In addition to Yokoyamabaku, STURT enhances the appeal of the district from multiple angles through initiatives such as the Sankaku Program and Sankaku Tonyagai Upload, promoting the utilization of underused real estate and attracting new participants to the neighborhood. In this triangular wholesale district, many activities are taking shape and continuing to expand. STURT will keep fostering an environment where new “stars” can emerge.
